I will be giving 2 workshops at the Sussex County Arts and Heritage gallery in Newton. In each class I will show you how to paint a complete watercolor painting, step by step till we are done. Participants may attend either one or both classes. They will be fun and informative. They are geared toward the beginner and intermediate painters.

Cost: $35 per 2½hour workshop: $45 for each workshop all supplies provided
Bring art supplies (paints, palette, brushes, Arches watercolor paper(two 8x10sheets), a water container, paper towels, pencil, eraser, masking tape, ink pen and a support to paint on. If you do not have any watercolor supplies, I can provide everything that you will need for an extra $10 supply fee.
Limit of 12 participants.

My Life in Color
David John Rush
David John Rush, well known teacher, graphic designer and color consultant, began his investigations into color psychology while an art student, He continued his research during his professional career, Ultimately meeting and joining Hannes Beckmann and Josef Albers, Charles N. Smith and Ben Cunningham. Through this association he was invited to work with Albers during the summer of 1967 in New Haven. He was also invited to the Bauhaus Museum and Archives in 2002. he has had over 100 solo shows and 8 Museum shows. His work is in many private collections throughout the world.
The exhibition will include approximately 30 works some of which are new. David will attend and will discuss his works and respond to attendees questions.
David is featured in a new book, “New Jersey Artists through Time” by Tova Navarra. Published by Font hill Media, the 300-page book celebrates the legacy of New Jersey’s prominent artists through the state's 350 years of existence. “
Copies of Tova's book will be on sale at the reception.

When visiting the gallery at the judicial center go through the security check at the entrance and then take the elevator to the second floor.
The judicial center is open 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. It is closed on public holidays.
Photography requires a permit - obtained from the administrative office at the north end of the second floor gallery. Get the permit before you want to enter the courthouse with a camera.
We are pleased to announce that the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council will once again host the Annual Skylands Regional Juried Art Exhibit! This exhibit has become a benchmark for quality art shows in the New Jersey Highlands. Both the exhibit and the opening reception are well attended by the public and highly regarded by artists of all levels of experience.
